Creating Your First Job
Learn how to publish your first CornJobs opening, validate credit consumption, and prepare the assistant to interview candidates in a few guided steps.
Overview
The create job form groups mandatory information in four blocks: Basic Information, Profile & Skills, Candidate Target, and Job Creation Info. The header chip highlights that you are creating a new job, while the footer buttons let you clear the form or trigger a review modal before credits are consumed.

Before you begin
- Have the job title, company name, and description ready.
- Know which contract type, seniority, and work arrangement (Remote, On-site, Hybrid) apply.
- List the hard and soft skills you expect—in the form, each skill becomes a chip when you press Enter or comma.
- Decide how many candidates you want to evaluate so you understand the credit impact upfront.
- Optional: launch from a template. Start from the Templates Library and the page loads the saved data automatically, highlighting Template loaded in the hero.
Speed up with templates
Open the Templates Library, choose a blueprint, and select the action that redirects you to /dashboard/jobs/create?template=nova-wave-product-designer. The form keeps your candidate target and balance values, but every other field is overwritten with the template content.
Form walkthrough
Complete the form from top to bottom. Validation messages appear under each required field when something is missing.
- Basic Information
Fill Title, Company, optional Salary Range, and the long Description. These inputs use the standard MUI text fields and accept pasted content.
- Profile & Skills
Pick Contract Type, Seniority, and Location from dropdowns. Choose at least one Behavior Profile checkbox, then capture skills using the chips inputs. Optional text areas handle Previous Experiences, Disqualifiers, Company Values, and Work Style.
- Candidate Target
Set the slider between 1 and 1000 or type a number in the Candidates field. The helper text and chips refresh immediately with the credit cost.
- Job Creation Info
Review the computed Base Credits, Candidate Credits, Total Credits, and Remaining After balance summary before submitting.
Entering skills quickly
Type a skill and press Enter, Tab, comma, or use the Add button. Each token becomes a chip. To remove a skill, click the chip’s close icon. This matches the chip inputs you’ll find across the rest of the app.
Validation states
The form shows inline errors as soon as you leave a required field empty or submit without the needed details. Required inputs show a red border and helper text until you supply valid values.

What happens after confirmation
When you create a new job, a confirmation message appears, and you're automatically redirected to the job details page. If something goes wrong, you'll return to the main jobs dashboard instead. Remember that credits are deducted right after you create a job in this example, 17 credits are used. While the system is processing your request, the confirm button changes to "Processing..." and stays disabled to avoid repeated submissions.
Troubleshooting: Can't find job details page after creation
If the redirect didn't work or you can't find your newly created job in the dashboard, follow this checklist.
Job location checklist
Where to look for your created job
☐ Check Jobs Dashboard: Go to /dashboard/jobs, sort by "Created Date" (newest first)
☐ Search by job title: Use dashboard search bar to find job by name
☐ Check Transaction History: Go to /dashboard/credits → Transaction History. If credits were deducted, job was created (find jobId in transaction details)
If credits deducted but job not visible → Database sync issue. Contact support with transaction timestamp.
